Does your horse hate you when you bring out the grazing muzzle? Here is a totally new design of a grazing muzzle that will appeal to more horses than the traditional solid web ones. The trick to making it work well is to spend the time to get the straps adjusted (it comes without a halter), then wrap the straps. The very best wrapping material is old (or new) real wool fleece halter tubes, since the wool is unaffected by water, sweat and dirt - just brush the fleece off and place it back on the horse.
The best way to attach it to the noseband of the halter is to wrap a figure 8 of vetwrap-type tape around the strap and the halter. This makes a padded and secure attachment.
The photo here shows a small horse (about 15 hand Connemara) in a horse size, which is quite roomy for her.
The small size fits ponies and some small horses with fairly petite muzzles. The large size fits most horses, but may not be large enough for a draft size horse.
THESE MUZZLES HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY HARD TO IMPORT. THE PRICES HAVE GONE UP CONSIDERABLY, BUT THEY REMAIN ONE OF THE PLEASANTEST MUZZLES FOR A HORSE TO WEAR.
CURRENTLY THE LARGE MUZZLES ARE ON BACKORDER UNTIL AUGUST, WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE IMPORTING THEM, SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.
